2023 Ballot – Jenna Blind – Treasurer

Jenna Blind, DNP, RN, CPHQ, Alumnus CCRN

CANDIDATE FOR TREASURER

I have been a proud member of the New York Organization for Nurse Leaders (NYONL) for seven years and am an active participant in the Greater New York Nassau Suffolk chapter (GNYNSONL). I currently serve as the Director of Education, Professional Development, and Quality Improvement at the NYU Langone Home Health Care Agency and the Home Hospital Program. I have held a variety of roles in my 15-year nursing career in the specialties of Critical Care, Clinical Informatics, Revenue Cycle, and Nursing Quality. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing Administration with Informatics from Molloy University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Healthcare Systems Leadership from Chamberlain University. My doctoral work focused on utilizing expressive writing as an evidence-based intervention to improve the efficacy of transformational leadership for nurse managers and this work was recently published as a featured article in the Nursing Management journal. I am fortunate to educate the future of nursing as an Adjunct Professor in the Baccalaureate program at Molloy University. I am a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a recent graduate of the Clinical Quality Fellowship Program sponsored by the Greater New York Hospital Association and the United Hospital Fund. I consider myself a performance improvement enthusiast and enjoy leading and mentoring in the area of quality improvement science. I am extremely passionate about nursing and dissemination of best practice and have had the opportunity to present at the local, national, and international levels on these topics. I am drawn to the role of Treasurer because my strengths include the ability to strategically plan, playing close attention to detail, and complex problem solving.  It would be both an honor and a privilege to serve as the next Treasurer of the GNYSONL where I hope to have the opportunity to uphold the mission and vision of our chapter and organization at large.
