CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT-ELECT

Eve Dorfman has held many diverse roles in nursing and leadership throughout her twenty-seven-year career.   In her current role as vice president for operations at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island, she oversees the home hospital, home health services, dialysis services, respiratory/occupational/physical therapies, hospital medicine services, and biomedical engineering.  In the past year, she successfully led the charge to operationalize a home hospital program for NYU Langone Hospitals. Dr. Dorfman has served on the board of the Greater New York Nassau Suffolk Organization of Nurse Leaders (GNYNSONL) for the past four years as the treasurer.  During her tenure, she has successfully managed the financial aspects of the regional chapter including but not limited to financial budgeting, planning, and income and expense management.  She led the initiative to create an investment account to ensure the financial wellness of the chapter during a turbulent economic climate.  Dr. Dorfman is now pursing the position of president-elect to continue her service with GNYNSONL. Dr. Dorfman is passionate about transformational leadership and its impact on the nursing profession.  If elected, she plans on leading this great chapter by increasing member engagement and enhancing member collaboration and networking.

Dr. Dorfman holds a baccalaureate degree in nursing from Stony Brook University, a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Binghamton University, a master’s degree in nursing informatics from New York University, a post-master’s certificate in nursing administration from Villanova University and a doctor of nursing practice in transformative leadership systems through Rush University. She also holds a certification as an advanced nurse executive through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
